The Wine Barrel Takes Shape

 It is starting to look like a barrel!

The raw barrel now has the wine rack, serving cabinet and the first bench installed. The angled boards will brace the barrel end during shipping to the job. Now it is starting to look like something nice! Next we will fit and mortise the cherry doors!

One down, one to go! The back end will be open so the ‘Wine Tasters’ can move freely to the wine cellar we built directly behind the barrel.

Just as a big barrel has big staves, it also has big rungs! This one is 3/8”x 6” steel that was rolled to fit the angle of the barrel.
